Job description

Westlakes Recruit is seeking a Product Safety Engineer , Equipment Safety Engineer , or Safety Consultant to support a major defence communications and technology program in Riyadh. This position focuses on design safety , playing a key role in ensuring safety is embedded in complex systems and equipment across the programme lifecycle.

Please note : This role is based on-site in Riyadh and therefore requires candidates who are willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage Safety and Environmental Cases and Safety and Environmental Case Reports .

Create, maintain, and manage Hazard Logs to support the delivery of a safe and compliant system.

Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, including DEFSTAN 00-056 .

Apply ASEMS (Acquisition Safety and Environmental Management System) principles and processes across project phases.

Engage with the Defence Land Safety Regulator (DLSR) and ensure alignment with its requirements.

Ensure familiarity and adherence to Safety Function Joint Service Publications (JSPs) .

Provide guidance to engineering and delivery teams on design safety requirements and assurance activities.

Significant experience in design safety , product safety , or equipment safety within defence or complex engineering programmes.

Strong understanding of ASEMS and the Defence Land Safety Regulator (DLSR) .

Familiarity with Safety Function Joint Service Publications (JSPs) .

Experience developing and managing Safety and Environmental Cases and Hazard Logs .

Knowledge of DEFSTAN 00-056 requirements and application.

Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and reporting skills.
