Job Description

The role is accountable for maximizing the value of the product. They are responsible for the WHAT - ensuring that the features of the upcoming product are clearly defined for the squad and are valuable for the Business. Product Owners (POs) work with squads to build and engineer products that meet customer needs. They lead product solutioning that achieves a good balance between cost-efficiency, functionality, and creativity, meeting the needs and wants of defined markets. They are responsible for product life-cycle management.

Responsibilities

1. Define and manage the product vision and strategy based on customer and stakeholder needs and market research.
2. Create and prioritize a product backlog that aligns with the product vision and goals, refining it based on feedback and evolving business needs.
3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (developers, UX designers, QA) to ensure timely delivery of products that meet customer needs.
4. Ensure backlog items are clearly defined and understood to facilitate requirements comprehension by the squad.
5. Decide on features to include in each sprint or release, focusing on value delivered to customers and the business.
6. Ensure product compliance with relevant regulations and standards, managing legal or ethical considerations.
7. Work with the Business and other senior POs to define future product iterations and plan releases.
8. Be accessible to answer development team questions regarding requirements.
9. Keep end-user needs in mind to ensure the product meets them.
10. Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager related to the work.
11. Enforce and comply with all necessary controls and policies, including information security (EIS), within departmental activities.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification from an internationally recognized institution.
• Industry-recognized certifications like Professional Scrum Product Owner.

Experience

• Recommended 5 to 7 years of relevant experience demonstrating required competencies.
• Experience working with senior staff, handling complex issues, larger clients, projects, or internal relationships.
• End-to-end experience from product ideation to release.
