Job description

The role is accountable for maximizing the value of the product. They are responsible for the WHAT ensuring that the features of the upcoming product are clearly defined for the squad and are valuable for the business. POs work with squads to build and engineer products that meet customer needs. They lead product solutioning that achieves a good balance between cost-efficiency, functionality, and creativity, meeting the needs and wants of defined markets. They are responsible for product life-cycle management.

Preferred Qualifications

• A tertiary-level qualification from an internationally recognized institution

• Recommended 5 to 7 years of relevant experience demonstrating required competencies
• Experience working with senior staff and handling complex issues, larger clients, accounts, projects, or internal relationships

Key Responsibilities

1. Defining and managing the product vision and strategy based on customer, stakeholder needs, and market research.
2. Creating and prioritizing a product backlog aligned with the product vision, and refining it based on feedback and changing needs.
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the product meets customer needs and is delivered on time.
4. Ensuring backlog items are clearly defined and well understood by the squad.
5. Deciding on features to include in each sprint or release based on value to customers and the business.
6. Ensuring product compliance with relevant regulations and standards, managing legal and ethical considerations.
7. Working closely with the business and other senior POs to define subsequent product iterations and plan releases.
8. Being accessible to answer questions from the development team regarding requirements.
9. Keeps end-user needs in mind to ensure the product meets them.
10. Performing other duties as assigned by the line manager related to the work.
11. Enforcing and complying with all information security policies and practices.
