Job Description

The role is accountable for maximizing the value of the product . They are responsible for the WHAT - ensuring that the features of the upcoming product are clearly defined for the squad and are valuable for the Business. POs work with squads to build and engineer products that meet customer needs. They lead product solutioning that achieves a good balance between cost-efficiency, functionality, and creativity, meeting the needs and wants of defined markets. They are responsible for product life-cycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Defining and managing the product vision and strategy, based on customer and stakeholder needs and market research.
  • Creating and prioritizing a product backlog (a list of features and requirements) that aligns with the product vision and goals, and continuously refining it based on feedback and changing business needs.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, UX designers, and quality assurance) to ensure that the product meets customer needs and is delivered on time.
  • Ensuring that the product backlog items are clearly defined, and well understood, to help the squad understand requirements.
  • Make decisions on what features to include in each sprint or release, based on the value they will deliver to customers and the business.
  • Ensuring that the product is compliant with all relevant regulations and standards, and managing any legal or ethical considerations related to the product.
  • Works closely with the Business, other senior POs to define the next iterations of the Product and plan their releases
  • Be accessible to answer questions from the development team regarding any of the requirements
  • Keeps the end-user needs in mind and makes sure the Product meets them
  • Perform any other duties assigned to by line manager related to the nature of the work.
  • Enforce, incorporate, and comply with all necessary controls and related information security (EIS) policies, procedures, practices, training, reporting, personal due diligence, and vigilance, within departmental/unit activities and operations.


Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • A tertiary-level qualification from an internationally recognized institution
  • Industry-recognized certifications like Professional Scrum Product Owner


Years & Nature of Experience
  • Recommended 5 to 7 years of equivalent experience where required competencies and experience has been demonstrated
  • Has worked with more senior staff and dealt with complex issues, larger clients, accounts, projects, or internal relationships.
  • Has end-to-end experience from Product Ideation to Release
