About the Role

We are seeking a Product Manager for Ubuntu Desktop to lead product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market efforts. The ideal candidate will excel in leadership, communication, and technical vision, and be passionate about open source and the developer experience.

Responsibilities
  1. Drive the vision and roadmap of our desktop experience.
  2. Lead partnership efforts with silicon vendors and OEMs.
  3. Engage with the Ubuntu community, partners, hardware manufacturers, and customers.
  4. Define future business models considering the competitive landscape.
  5. Manage the product lifecycle from conception to delivery, including market research, user feedback, and iteration.
  6. Coordinate with marketing, sales, and support teams for go-to-market strategies, documentation, and training.
  7. Support sales efforts and customer engagement to ensure product success.
Qualifications
  • Strong academic background.
  • Understanding of Linux, open source community, and computer architecture.
  • Passion for technology and continuous learning.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Familiarity with Linux desktop environments, identity management, and application frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Silicon, cloud providers, and device ecosystems.

This role is remote within the EMEA region.
