Job Title: Procurement Specialist – IoT Devices & Smart Technologies

Position Summary
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of IoT-related hardware and components. The role is critical in ensuring that customer-driven demand is met through timely procurement, optimized costs, and high-quality vendor relationships. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, operations, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Supplier Management
- Source and purchase IoT hardware, including microcontrollers, sensors, gateways, smart helmets, wearable tech, MDVR units, and wireless modules (BLE, LoRa, NB-IoT).
- Identify, qualify, and onboard reliable suppliers, OEMs, and component manufacturers globally.
- Manage end-to-end procurement cycles from RFQ to PO to delivery.
- Monitor supplier KPIs: on-time delivery (OTD), quality performance, and responsiveness.
- Demand Fulfillment & Forecasting
- Collaborate with the Sales and Project Teams to translate customer orders and forecasts into procurement plans.
- Plan material requirements to support on-time project execution and avoid stockouts.
- Establish safety stock and reorder points for high-demand products.
Technical & Engineering Coordination
- Interpret technical specifications, datasheets, and BOMs in coordination with engineering teams.
- Ensure compatibility of sourced products with system requirements (e.g., communication protocols, power specs).
- Maintain awareness of emerging IoT hardware trends and upgrades.
Contracting & Cost Optimization
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions to secure favorable deals.
- Optimize total landed costs including freight, duties, warehousing, and handling.
- Maintain documentation of all procurement records for auditing and tracking purposes.
Systems & Reporting
- Operate within an ERP system (preferably Odoo) to manage purchase orders, inventory tracking, and supplier databases.
- Prepare procurement reports and dashboards, highlighting variances in lead time, cost, and supply status.
- Support compliance with import/export regulations, especially for electronics and communication devices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience in IoT, electronics, or related technology sectors.
- Proven experience in sourcing from Asia (China, Taiwan, India), Europe, or the US.
- Familiarity with wireless communication technologies (BLE, LoRa, Zigbee, NB-IoT).
- Experience dealing with certifications like CE, FCC, CITC, or equivalent.
Skills
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering documents.
- Proficiency in Excel, ERP platforms (Odoo preferred), and supply chain analytics.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).

- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) – APICS
- Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) – CIPS
- PMP or equivalent project coordination exposure
