We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, especially various grades of steel, components, and services necessary for our precision manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of steel grades and machining processes, and experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Source and purchase high-quality raw materials, including different steel types (e.g., carbon, stainless, alloy), machining tools, and equipment at competitive prices.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure timely delivery and best pricing.
  3. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to understand material requirements and lead times.
  4. Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and potential risks to optimize the supply chain.
  5. Negotiate contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
  6. Ensure all procurement activities comply with ISO standards, company policies, and legal guidelines.
  7. Evaluate and maintain approved supplier lists, assess vendor performance, and manage regular audits.
  8. Maintain accurate purchase records, reports, and inventory levels to support just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing.
  9. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
  10. Support continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in steel or precision manufacturing.
  3. Strong knowledge of steel grades, mechanical properties, and relevant industry standards.
  4. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  5. Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Familiarity with import/export regulations and international sourcing is a plus.
