Job Summary

The Procurement Officer is responsible for streamlining sourcing processes, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services. This role aims to optimize cost efficiency and maintain inventory levels to meet organizational needs. The officer also cultivates supplier relationships, evaluates supplier performance, and enforces compliance with procurement policies and regulations to support operational objectives and drive strategic sourcing initiatives.

Job Responsibilities 1

  • Define and communicate the supply strategy and its implications to inform and align stakeholders.
  • Utilize competitive insights to shape strategies that address competitive threats.
  • Remove organizational barriers to deliver exceptional internal and external customer service.
  • Represent the organization ethically and professionally, encouraging others to do the same within the operating framework.
  • Manage financial and budgetary responsibilities within the assigned area.
  • Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies.
  • Lead the delivery of savings and cash flow programs within their category scope.
  • Drive operational excellence in strategic sourcing.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to maximize value.
  • Formulate and manage strategic plans to capture total procurement value and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Adopt company-wide best practices to support strategic objectives and maximize business opportunities.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to improve service and reduce costs.
  • Identify and analyze cost reduction opportunities to meet financial targets.
  • Oversee supplier, material, and service rationalization to meet business requirements.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Profound knowledge of best-in-class purchasing requirements, with credibility in all purchasing areas.
  • Understanding of market dynamics and price discovery processes.
  • Experienced negotiator with suppliers.
  • Good understanding of best practices in supply chain management; experience in other supply chain areas is a plus.
  • ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, is required.

Job Experience

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a similar role; 2 years GCC experience is a plus.
