Position Summary
Manage and procure inventory levels required to meet shipment and operational objectives through manufacturing or purchasing procurement. Interface with suppliers and manufacturing personnel as required to meet or exceed customer service requirements. Support marketing lead time requirements for all IP models. Manage a predetermined value of inventory, including service and production parts.
Essential Responsibilities
- Review daily order reports to identify product requirements, including supplier open order, salvage, OTP, and portfolio management reports.
- Realize savings and manage supplier contracting and negotiations.
- Create and modify purchase orders and handle activities related to sourcing mechanical parts.
- Develop strategic sourcing concepts and expedite deliveries.
- Coordinate with suppliers to balance capacity and requirements to satisfy OTP and inventory levels.
- Review, evaluate, and dispose of excess and obsolete inventory.
- Execute ECN materials actions and manage inventory discrepancies.
- Manage supplier and manufacturing stocking programs.
- Assist with safety stock revisions and review supplier relations monthly.
- Collaborate with engineering, contracts, and planners to develop safety stock levels supporting project demands.
- Communicate delays caused by demand fluctuations, salvage, scrap, or late parts.
- Prepare various reports, including expense, savings, supplier performance, and capacity evaluations monthly.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing to prioritize when bottlenecks occur, making decisions on partial shipments and lot splitting.
- Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate prices, and recommend suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery.
- Coordinate quality matters and engineering changes with manufacturing and suppliers.
- Implement problem-solving solutions, track results, and suggest process improvements, including lean projects.
- Maintain data integrity within the ERP system and lead cost reduction initiatives.
- Resolve complex delivery and quality issues and serve as a technical focal point for supplier audits and assessments.
Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Skills and Experience:
- Managerial experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in PC applications, including ERP & SAP software.
- Knowledge of Goulds Pumps products is a plus.
- Experience dealing with foundries, casted parts, fabrication, and machined parts.
- Strong query processing skills in ERP/Excel and ability to manage multiple priorities.
