The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for projects and operations. The role ensures technical compliance, cost efficiency, timely delivery, and alignment with company standards while supporting project execution and operational continuity.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for engineering materials, equipment, and services.
- Review technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs to ensure accurate procurement requirements.
- Source, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers based on technical capability, cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Prepare RFQs, analyze technical and commercial bids, and support bid evaluation processes.
- Conduct technical clarifications with vendors to ensure compliance with project and engineering requirements.
- Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and commercial conditions to achieve cost-effective procurement.
- Issue purchase orders in line with approved specifications, budgets, and company policies.
- Coordinate with engineering, project, and site teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and resolve procurement-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, contractual terms, and ethical standards.
- Support cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and reports.
- Monitor procurement risks and propose mitigation actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal, safety, and quality requirements.
- Support project schedules by expediting materials and resolving supply delays when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 6–10 years of experience in procurement or purchasing within engineering, construction, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
