Job Purpose

The Process Optimization Solution Architect is responsible for architecting process optimization business solutions including APC, RTO, Process Simulation, etc., supporting their implementation for the production of Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, and other domains, as well as integrating third-party systems and custom developments when required. The individual owns business outcomes and implementation strategies, supporting the YMA Digital Enterprise Solutions Business Unit team in developing a competitive differentiation in the high-growth YMA region. Main focus area is KSA.

Additionally, the candidate may be asked to extend into a focused Business Development role on a global scale as a secondary task to support portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Develop solutions that resolve process problems and grow the business leveraging technologies such as APC, RTO, Process Simulation, and AI/ML.
• Manage the process optimization solution portfolio.
• Provide expertise to estimate the technical effort for complex solutions.
• Identify customer problems and design appropriate solutions based on their needs.
• Define functional requirements through client interviews, documentation analysis, and workflow mapping.
• Convince customers of proposed solutions via discussions, feasibility studies, benefit estimations, and PoC/PoV.
• Execute feasibility studies, benefit estimations, and PoC/PoV activities.
• Define success metrics for proposed solutions.
• Design solution architectures and detailed specifications.
• Lead project delivery teams during PoC/PoV activities.
• Provide ongoing support to clients under contract.
• Engage with new and existing customers through market analysis and consultative approaches.
• Create sales promotion materials and deliver solutions demonstrations and presentations.
• Manage day-to-day activities related to systems and technology support.
• Ensure timely and quality completion of deliverables to develop COE capabilities.
• Apply best practice approaches and methods.
• Support training programs for Yokogawa sales and engineering staff.

Qualifications And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or minimum 8 years industry experience in software development, engineering, and sales.
• At least 8 years’ experience designing or implementing process optimization solutions such as APC, RTO, or automated decision-making systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on solution development.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the YMA region and globally.

• Expertise in Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, or related industries.
• Knowledge of Process Control, APC, RTO, Process Simulation, Historian applications, Visualization, Automated decision control, Scheduling, etc.

• Awareness of market trends and IIOT integration concepts.
• Experience with analytic programming languages like Matlab and Python is advantageous.
• Knowledge of AI applications in process control is advantageous.
• Certifications such as SiRi Assessment or similar are advantageous.
