- We are seeking a Process Control & Automation Engineer to join our Process Automation & Systems Division under our Process and Control Systems Department.
- The Process and Control Systems Department provides services in process engineering, automation, new energy, and digitalization to various entities within the company.
- As a Process Control & Automation Engineer, your role will involve utilizing your experience in automation systems design, installation, and commissioning for Oil & Gas facilities. You will provide professional advice regarding operational processes, equipment, technology, facility design, and solutions to operational and maintenance issues.
- The responsibilities include:
- Implementation of safety instrumented systems (SIS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), distributed control systems (DCS), and Turbo Machinery control.
- Executing process control for hydrocarbon, Gas Plants, NGL Fractionation Plants, Refineries, petrochemical plants, pipelines, and distribution facilities.
- Originate and carry out engineering studies to determine optimal solutions to complex technical problems, increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve process safety.
- Participate in and provide technical expertise for process safety reviews such as HAZOP studies, SIL analysis, and qualitative risk assessments.
- Perform cost analyses and value engineering studies to recommend cost-effective solutions to technical issues.
- Review and evaluate vendor and contractor capabilities to determine their suitability for major services, acting as a company representative in technical dealings.
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, material specifications, procedures, and best practices to enhance profitability, safety, and productivity.
- Evaluate and introduce best practices and new technologies to achieve best-in-class performance in the oil and gas sector.
- Conduct seminars and technical exchange meetings to promote new technologies and best practices among personnel from other engineering organizations and facilities.
Essential skills and knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical or Electrical engineering. A Master's degree or PhD is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience as an engineer responsible for technical work in the field of specialty.
- Experience with the latest automation technologies, including knowledge of DCS or SIS systems.
- Participation as lead engineer in major automation system projects, including commissioning and startup activities.
- Previous work experience with a major international Oil & Gas company or with automation system suppliers used by the company.
- Participation in HAZOP and/or SIL analysis studies for oil & gas facilities.
- Design and implementation experience of control schemes such as boiler control, motor control, burner management, and compressor control.
- Experience with process automation networks (switches, routers, domain management) and communication protocols used in process automation.
- Experience with turbine and compressor control applications and their control systems.
