Primary purpose of the position:

• Responsible for the efficient setup and operation of Decorating Machines and Conveyor Equipment.
• Troubleshoots mechanical, printing, and process issues to ensure continual efficient operation of equipment.
• Follows procedures for quality, safety, and reporting; maintains a clean work area; suggests improvements; and performs other duties as needed.
• Maximize production and minimize spoilage during manufacturing.
• Set up, adjust, repair, maintain, and overhaul all backend related equipment.
• Understand and comply with safety SOPs and work instructions, including Lockout/Tagout, Chemical Handling, Machine Guarding, Housekeeping, SQF, and PPE.
• Check schedule for changeovers, conversions, or scheduled maintenance.
• Determine if schedule or permits allow for overhaul, repair, or readjustments.
• Inspect machines and analyze mechanical or operational issues.
• Plan and implement corrective actions to maintain quality and production.
• Perform changeovers or conversions, setting up equipment for different materials, sizes, or products.
• Check, test, and measure product quality using appropriate gauges and instruments; record data.
• Examine products for visual defects.
• Repair or overhaul backend equipment and transfer/mechanical control devices; replace worn/damaged parts.
• Retime machine actions as needed.
• Request or obtain additional supplies.
• Read schematics, prints, and manuals; interpret and follow instructions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report findings.
• Respond promptly to nonconforming conditions.
• Implement and apply the 5S system.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by higher management for the benefit of the business.

Professional & Education Qualifications:

High school diploma, mechanic diploma, or related field.
