Principal Geophysicist is an experienced geoscientist who will help drive the application of geophysics across a range of jurisdictions, scales, and commodities. Contribute subject matter expertise to global generative exploration activities, evaluation of new opportunities, and existing projects.
The Principal Geophysicist is a multifaceted, experienced exploration professional with strong technical skills in applied geophysics, a solid geological background, and broad experience from near mine to continental scales across various deposit types and commodities. Confirmed leadership skills, a track record of discovery, and the ability to collaborate across the exploration group are imperative. Development and mentorship of early-career geoscience professionals are also critical components of the role.
Work through all exploration camps and assist/mentor all geologists in the field.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Broad exploration experience in at least two different terrains and significant knowledge of at least three commodities, with understanding of two more or international recognition in a single commodity or exploration process.
- Multicontinent experience.
- Sound commercial skills and feasibility study experience.
- Ability to commercialize technical expertise.
- Wide experience and knowledge of applied exploration techniques.

Desired Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 15 years of geoscience experience, including substantial focus on greenfield project generation, regional targeting, and exploration.
- University degree in geoscience or a related field; an MSc or PhD is a strong asset.
- Extensive experience with potential fields, induced polarization, magnetics, radiometric, gravity, electromagnetics, and airborne geophysics.
- Significant experience applying geophysics to porphyry copper and magmatic nickel-copper PGE systems.
- Experience in orogenic, VMS, epithermal exploration is a plus.
- Ability to integrate geophysical data with geological observations effectively.
- Proven leadership and team influence skills.
