Job description

Responsibilities

  1. Establish and maintain close working relations with RSAF, MoDSAP & Contractor personnel.
  2. Understand Customer's concerns and requirements through regular contact with RSAF and Base personnel.
  3. Familiarize with Unit mission requirements, operational and quality management concepts, and functions of related activities.
  4. Provide analysis to the MetCal Wing Commander on trends and results of production.
  5. Conduct inspections, assessments, evaluations, and investigations as per RSAF Manuals.
  6. Support data collection and analysis.
  7. Serve as the primary technical advisor for Maintenance on quality issues within the MetCal organization.
  8. Assist RSAF Headquarters with technical support regarding Support Equipment.
  9. Coordinate technical investigations to support activities and evaluate new data for problem resolution.
  10. Resolve issues innovatively outside normal procedures.
  11. Review task performance and adapt strategies accordingly.
  12. Assume Head of Operations (MetCal) role during absence and manage responsibilities effectively.

Job Requirements

  1. Successful senior-level experience in a complex technical production or training organization, with at least 10 years of practical experience in a modern military or civilian environment.
  2. University Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent qualifications as approved by the MetCal Wing Commander.
  3. Formal training in electronics, electro-mechanical, or instrument-mechanical areas preferred.
  4. Minimum Higher National Certificate in Physics, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Computer Science, or equivalent qualifications.
  5. Proficiency in English communication and report writing.
  6. Ability to develop strategic plans for the RSAF Metrology Program.
  7. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Management Information Systems.
  8. Full knowledge of calibration methods and international metrology activities.
  9. Extensive experience in a senior technical role, ideally within the TMDE field, with managerial experience in RSAF or equivalent.
