Overview:

As a Player Care & Education Manger at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will be responsible for provide holistic support to academy players, ensuring their well-being, personal development, and smooth transitions throughout their football journey. The role focuses on player welfare, education, logistics support, and life skills development to prepare them for careers in and beyond football.

Key Responsibilities:

Player Welfare and Wellbeing

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Player Care program for all age groups within the academy.
  • Provide ongoing welfare and emotional support to academy players, addressing personal and football-related challenges.
  • Act as the main point of contact for players and parents regarding non-football matters, ensuring strong relationships with families.
  • Collaborate with safeguarding officers and player care officers to ensure the highest standards of child protection and player well-being.
  • Monitor and support players living in club-provided accommodation, liaising with families and ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Personal Development and Life Skills

  • Create and oversee a structured Life Skills program covering financial literacy, mental health awareness, nutrition, media training, and career planning.
  • Develop Individual Development Action Plans (IDAPs) to support personal and professional growth.
  • Work closely with the administration department to ensure players balance their academic and football commitments effectively.
  • Organise workshops and sessions with external professionals to enhance personal development.

Transition and Induction Support

  • Design and implement induction processes for newly registered academy players to help them adapt to the club environment.
  • Support players transitioning between age groups and those moving from the academy to the first team or external opportunities.
  • Provide tailored support to released players, offering career guidance and alternative pathways.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians, addressing concerns and providing updates on player welfare.
  • Liaise with coaching staff, medical teams, and performance departments to ensure a well-rounded support system for players.
  • Lead the "Player and Parent Voice" initiative to gather feedback and ensure a player-centered approach within the academy.
  • Work closely with the Safeguarding team to ensure compliance with Saudi Pro League and FIFA safeguarding regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments for academy-related trips and oversee player safety during travel.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or Travel and Hospitality

Desirable:

  • Diploma in Sports Management (CIES, FIFA, or LDI accredited)
  • FIFA Guardian Safeguarding qualification

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Previous experience in Player Care Management
  • Knowledge of SAFF and Ministry of Sport (MoS) regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Experience working with youth football teams
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East
  • Multilingual skills – fluency in English (essential); Spanish and Arabic are desirable
