Job description

Our client is well reputed O&M provider in the Power generation sector, as a Plant General Manager, will oversee the overall operations, management, and performance of the power plant. This role demands a high level of expertise in cogeneration systems, operational excellence, and leadership. The GM is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, safety, regulatory compliance, and financial efficiency of the plant.

  • Oversee daily operations of the cogeneration power plant to ensure efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to operational schedules, maintenance plans, and safety protocols.
  • Optimize plant performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop plant staff, including operations, maintenance, and administrative teams.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to staff.
  • Develop and manage the plant’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Oversee the maintenance program to ensure high reliability and availability of plant equipment.
  • Implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Coordinate major repairs, shutdowns, and upgrades.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) is required.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of cogeneration systems, power generation processes, and plant equipment.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems and plant operation software.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and safety standards in the power generation industry.Proficiency in English; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
