Job summary

A leading engineering company is seeking a Piping Materials Specification Engineer to join their team in Al Khobar. The successful candidate will manage piping material specifications and procurement activities within the oil and gas sector while ensuring adherence to international standards. This role requires strong knowledge of piping codes and standards, along with effective communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5-12 years of relevant piping materials specification engineering experience.
• In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME B31.3, API, ASTM, etc.).
• Experience with piping codes and standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare piping material specifications, valve data sheets, and requisitions.
• Conduct technical bid evaluations and manage procurement engineering.
• Review vendor documents and coordinate with subcontractors.

Experience with piping codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API, ASTM, and

other international standards.

Strong knowledge of different piping materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, Cladding,

non-metallic materials (like GRE, GRP, PVC), and their application in various services.

Prepare piping material specification, Valve data sheet and Specialty item Datasheets.

Prepare Material Requisitions for Piping Bulks, Manual Valves, and Piping SP Items.

Perform technical bid evaluations and raise technical queries (TQs) to vendors for piping

components and valves.

Can review vendor documents such as vendor drawings.

Perform Procurement Engineering within the scheduled time frame of the project. Coordinate

with vendors, subcontractors, etc.

Experience in GESPI/ SpMAT MARIAN for piping class software is preferred.

Requirements

Experience and knowledge of the ARAMCO std. is preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/Material Engineering.

5 years to 12 years of relevant Piping Materials Specification engineering experience in

the onshore and offshore Oil & Gas industry.

In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards like ASME B 31.3, ASME B 31.8,

ASTM, API, BS, MSS SP, NACE.
