Job description

Position: Water Piping Foreman

Brief Summary:

The Water Piping Foreman supervises the installation, repair, and maintenance of water piping systems, including potable water, wastewater, irrigation, and industrial water lines. They lead crews to ensure projects meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee installation, repair, and maintenance of water pipelines (PVC, HDPE, ductile iron, copper, etc.) and related components (pumps, valves, meters).
  2. Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and GIS (Geographic Information System) maps for pipeline routing.
  3. Conduct pressure tests, leak detection, and system inspections.
  4. Enforce safety protocols (confined space entry, trenching/shoring, PPE).
  5. Supervise trenching, backfilling, and pipe laying operations.
  6. Maintain inventory of materials, tools, and equipment.
  7. Train and mentor junior pipefitters and laborers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in plumbing/pipefitting preferred.
