Job summary

A leading multispecialty outpatient care provider in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced pharmacist to dispense medications and provide patient counselling. Candidates must have a degree from an accredited pharmacy institute, a license by the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia, and 3-5 years of experience in the outpatient pharmacy business in Jeddah Region.

Qualifications

  • Must have graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Institute in Saudi Arabia or similar accepted degree.
  • Must have experience in the outpatient pharmacy business.
  • Knowledge of MOH registered drugs and insurance policies.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense drugs as prescribed by physicians after standard verification.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Dispense drugs as prescribed by physicians after standard verification process as per the pharmacy policy & procedure and after verification and confirmation of medications prepared by the pharmacy Technician.
  2. Complete e-Prescription and all sales activities run inside the pharmacy through a professional use of the electronic My Clinic information system, other assistive systems or devices in accordance with the pharmacy policy and regulations.
  3. Maintain the Cash register and provide daily financial statement and cash handover to the clinic’s Cashier as per the policy and rules on timely manner.
  4. Up to date knowledge of MOH registered and all My Clinic’s Formulary Drug list, herbal preparations, consumer products, medical devices and/or special needs materials, usage reasons and instructions to clarify misuse, proper dosage and side effects.
  5. Complete dispensing for medication prescriptions and patient counselling: by giving specialized medical advice to patients on drug use and proper dosages, corrective precautions in case of drug interactions and side effects and provide pharmaceutical information material/ education whenever appropriate and required as per the policy. This may require also communication with prescriber for more details or corrective actions.
  6. Work with patient on general health: Pharmacist also help patients heal and avoid getting sick by sharing device on using non-prescription remedies, taking health supplements such as Vitamins, natural health products, exercising & maintaining good diet.
  7. Dealing with Insurance: well knowledge about Insurance policies on how and when to apply for approvals, keep well records and documentation of data and how to handle patient response in such cases.
  8. Manage Staff: overseeing the work of Pharmacy technician, cleaners and any helpers or merchandisers present in the workplace,
  9. Perform administrative work: like keeping the manual prescription filed properly, making sure that required daily reports are done properly & 0n-time.
  10. Maintaining pharmacy’s (and its patient’s employees) safety by adhering to infection –control procedures, policies and regulations
  11. Maintaining pharmacy’s (and its patient’s employees) safety & security by being aware, alerted to the surrounding workplace; also, by attending and applying all professional safety training sessions conducted by My Clinic as per the policy. Also, must report any incidence that may affect Safety & Security immediately to the pharmacy supervisor/ manager.
  12. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  13. Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks’ participating in professional societies and using the organizational supportive electronics healthcare subscription (ex: UpToDate and Lexicomp online).
  14. Ensure the pharmacy equipment and surrounding workspace are all I well working condition and report any issues related to equipment maintenance immediately with no delay to the Supervisor and to maintenance team if asked to do so.
  15. Complies with pharmacy procedures and MOH regulations.
  16. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education / Professional Qualifications:

  1. Position requires graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Institute in Saudi Arabia or similar accepted degree.
  2. Must be licensable by the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia.
  3. Must have between 3-5 years of experience.
  4. Experienced in Saudi Market, Jeddah Region and preferable in similar Outpatient Pharmacy business.
