Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  1. Liaise with governance bodies and stakeholders to fully understand regulatory requirements related to permits.
  2. Maintain effective communication with the permitting teams, representing the construction/delivery team in meetings and workshops.
  3. Coordinate with the requirements management team to ensure permits and their processes are properly traced, managed, and validated.
  4. Provide technical advice to project/delivery/construction directors and team members regarding permits and governance issues arising from construction activities.
  5. Collaborate with other projects to optimize permit processes and leverage synergies.
  6. Coordinate with (sub)contractors to ensure permits are issued without affecting work schedules.
  7. Analyze schedules and plan deliverables to secure timely permits, avoiding construction delays.
  8. Inform and advise the project team on permit obligations, ensuring compliance with conditions.
  9. Maintain a register of all permits and related documentation.
  10. Ensure permits are withdrawn when no longer needed.
  11. Work with construction and QA/QC teams to ensure traceability of permit documentation.
  12. Collaborate with safety, construction, and lifting teams to uphold safety standards on-site.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  1. Experience in permitting and governance in construction projects.
  2. Strong understanding of construction site permitting processes.
  3. Technical expertise to address issues related to permits in construction activities.
  4. Ability to identify and evaluate risks associated with permits.
  5. Understanding of construction constraints and priorities.
  6. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and related documentation.
  7. Knowledge of QA processes in construction.
  8. Ability to filter relevant information and escalate when necessary.
  9. Proficiency with industry-standard software: Windows, Office, CAD.
  10. Teamwork skills.
  11. Knowledge of environmental permits related to construction is a plus.
  12. Experience with Mega/Giga projects is a plus.
