Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with governance bodies and stakeholders to fully understand regulatory requirements related to permits.
- Maintain effective communication with the permitting teams, representing the construction/delivery team in meetings and workshops.
- Coordinate with the requirements management team to ensure permits and their processes are properly traced, managed, and validated.
- Provide technical advice to project/delivery/construction directors and team members regarding permits and governance issues arising from construction activities.
- Collaborate with other projects to optimize permit processes and leverage synergies.
- Coordinate with (sub)contractors to ensure permits are issued without affecting work schedules.
- Analyze schedules and plan deliverables to secure timely permits, avoiding construction delays.
- Inform and advise the project team on permit obligations, ensuring compliance with conditions.
- Maintain a register of all permits and related documentation.
- Ensure permits are withdrawn when no longer needed.
- Work with construction and QA/QC teams to ensure traceability of permit documentation.
- Collaborate with safety, construction, and lifting teams to uphold safety standards on-site.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Experience in permitting and governance in construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction site permitting processes.
- Technical expertise to address issues related to permits in construction activities.
- Ability to identify and evaluate risks associated with permits.
- Understanding of construction constraints and priorities.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and related documentation.
- Knowledge of QA processes in construction.
- Ability to filter relevant information and escalate when necessary.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software: Windows, Office, CAD.
- Teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of environmental permits related to construction is a plus.
- Experience with Mega/Giga projects is a plus.
