Summary

Within the mission, vision, and values of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, the delivery of pediatric anesthesia and related services to the patients of KASCH, Jeddah, is provided according to the expertise, work experience, language, and computer skills of the practitioner, under the responsibility of the Chairman of the Department of Pediatric ENT – Head & Neck Surgery.

Education/Qualifications Required:
  1. Basic medical degree from a recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Sources from: North America, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand.
      • USA: The American Board of Otolaryngology (ABMS)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC – Pediatric ENT)
      • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register - Pediatric ENT
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP – Pediatric ENT)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Experience Post-Qualifications:
  • Minimum three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and France (DES).
  • Minimum five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece, and France (DIS).
License:
  • Current and in good standing medical license to practice in the country of residence.
  • Current BLS/ACLS certificate.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • As the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) of patients admitted under your care, ensure optimal care of those patients.
  • Undertake outpatient, inpatient, and operating duties punctually and professionally.
  • Cooperate with other consultants, section heads, and the chairman in day-to-day department affairs, including morbidity/mortality and quality improvement activities.
  • Ensure that all middle-grade and junior staff carry out their duties appropriately, teaching and guiding them in all aspects of surgical care.
  • Responsible for the timely completion and quality of medical records.
  • Undertake duties as assigned by the section head and chairman.
  • Participate in committee duties as requested or nominated, representing the section head when needed.
  • Organize academic and teaching activities as necessary.
  • Responsible for overseeing Associate and Assistant Consultants, Staff Surgeons, Residents, and interns on the team.
  • Liaise with other consultants and senior staff as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
