Job description


Summary
Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions, as well as the provision of medical care in the field of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, and the hospital's policies and procedures.

Education/Qualifications Required:

  • Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  • Post-qualification certification
  • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
  • USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
  • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
  • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
  • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and France (DES).
  • Minimum five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece, and France (DIS).

License:

Current and in good standing medical license to practice in the country of residence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provides high-quality patient care in all aspects of Pediatric Emergency Medicine according to approved clinical privileges.
  • Provides consultation (inpatient, outpatient emergency room, other patient areas) upon request and responds promptly within prescribed timeframes.
  • Responsible for timely, accurate, and complete medical reports.
  • Provides on-call service, ensuring availability and response within prescribed timeframes according to hospital policy.
  • Conducts daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge and ensures discharge orders are within 24 hours prior to discharge.
  • Performs other clinical responsibilities related to Pediatric Emergency Medicine as assigned.
Academic Responsibilities
  • Provides orientation, bedside supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
  • Participates in educational activities, training programs, and attends national and international medical conferences.
  • Maintains professional knowledge and continuing education requirements.
Research Responsibilities
  • Participates in clinical, basic, and translational research projects to advance knowledge and improve postgraduate education.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Undertakes administrative duties assigned by the Head of Section or Chairman.
  • Participates in departmental and hospital committees and other administrative functions.
  • Assists in developing and implementing techniques to maximize resource utilization.
  • Adheres to hospital and medical bylaws, rules, regulations, and policies, staying updated on changes.
  • Participates in self and others' education, training, and development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
