JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Pediatric Certified Diabetes Educator, you will assess learning needs, develop education plans, provide education, and evaluate the outcomes for patients and caregivers with diabetes. You will provide education in inpatient and outpatient settings and participate in team activities for policy and protocol development.

You will work for a prestigious healthcare provider in Saudi Arabia, based in Riyadh, with occasional travel throughout Saudi Arabia to provide Concierge Pediatric Certified Diabetes Educator Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Instruct classes and conduct one-to-one consultations to educate patients on basic, intermediate, advanced, and gestational diabetes.
  2. Educate patients on dietary management, including carbohydrate counting, label reading, meal planning, and dietary fats.
  3. Utilize motivational interviewing and behavior modification techniques to foster behavior change and self-management skills.
  4. Provide nutrition counseling for conditions such as hyperlipidemia, hypertension, weight management, and GI disorders.
  5. Track and prepare reports on the status and progress of diabetic patients.
  6. Identify cases of prospective and established diabetes.
  7. Assist in diabetes treatment planning and monitor adherence.
  8. Educate patients and families on diabetes-related care.
  9. Emphasize the importance of lifestyle modifications.
  10. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen networks.
  11. Support internal and external advocacy campaigns.
  12. Chair support groups for individuals with diabetes.
  13. Maintain licensure by following all guidelines.
  14. Participate in committees, task forces, and teams as needed.
  15. Adhere to all policies and procedures.
  16. Engage in ongoing education, training, and development.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
