Summary
Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions, as well as the provision of medical care in the field of Pediatric Cardiology in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the hospital’s policies and procedures.
Education/Qualifications Required:
- Basic medical degree from recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
- UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
- Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
License:
- Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provides high-quality patient care in all aspects of Pediatric Urology (Surgical) within the scope of approved clinical privileges.
- Ensures the timely completion, accuracy, and compliance of all medical documentation and reports.
- Provides on-call coverage and responds within the required timeframe in accordance with hospital policy.
- Conducts daily morning rounds to monitor patient progress and identify those ready for discharge. Ensures discharge orders are issued at least 24 hours prior to discharge.
- Performs other clinical duties related to Pediatric Urology, as assigned.
Academic Responsibilities
- Provides clinical orientation, bedside teaching, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows, as assigned.
- Participates in the department’s educational and training activities.
- Attends and contributes to national and international medical conferences.
- Maintains ongoing professional development and fulfills continuing education requirements.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Fulfills administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Section or Department Chairman.
- Participates in departmental and hospital-wide committees and mandatory activities.
- Supports the department in optimizing resource utilization and implementing effective clinical practices.
- Complies with hospital bylaws, policies, and procedures, and stays updated on any changes.
- Participates in self-development and assists in the training of others, as applicable.
- Performs other related administrative duties as required.
