Summary
Performs basic patient transport tasks and assists in the daily functioning of the department to support patient care.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• Supports the provision of safe, patient- and family-focused quality care.
• Accompanies, transports, and transfers patients and patient-related items (charts, medications, etc.) as required.
• Assists patients in transporting them to different areas safely.
• Follows established telephone etiquette and seeks assistance when appropriate.
• Adheres to the Employee Code of Conduct and maintains confidentiality at all times.
• Promotes a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk to the Supervisor.
• Floats to and covers other areas as assigned.
• Contributes to patient satisfaction by responding to requests in a timely manner.
• Collects, organizes, archives, and files documents periodically as needed.
• Follows the chain of command in reporting incidents or concerns.
