Job description

Pastry Commis Chef are new joiners in the industry and future Pastry chefs in training. Scope of tasks include working alongside Pastry demi and Chef de Partie on the basic needs of the Pastry section. Pastry Commis chef may rotate to different sections to gain knowledge while multitasking.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

OPERATION:

  • Assisting in the food preparation process
  • Assisting with the handling of health and safety
  • Preparing vegetables, meats, and fish
  • Assisting other Pastry Chefs
  • Helping with deliveries and restocking
  • Assisting with stock rotation
  • Cleaning stations
  • Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards
  • Assisting with the handling of food hygiene practices
  • Undertaking general administration duties
  • Observing company rules and procedures, carrying out reasonable requests from managers
  • Demonstrating brand guidelines throughout daily operations
  • Being aware of health and safety responsibilities, reporting hazards or accidents
  • Attending training sessions and team meetings

ADMINISTRATION:

  • Following SOPs, manuals, and recipes
  • Ensuring compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Managing proper handling and temperatures of food products
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment in accordance with health regulations

COMMUNICATION:

  • Attending daily team briefings
  • Communicating effectively using communication tools
  • Exhibiting professional behavior to foster a positive work environment

FINANCE:

  • Ensuring consistent adherence to operational recipe cards
JOB ROLE SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in English to perform duties effectively
  • Ability to remain calm and constructive under pressure, solution-oriented
