Job description

Position Purpose

The Packaging Section Head is responsible for overseeing all activities within the packaging department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality packaging operations. This role ensures optimal utilization of manpower and machinery while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily operations of the packaging lines to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Ensure all packaging processes comply with GMP, HACCP, ISO, and other relevant food safety regulations.
• Monitor packaging performance, downtime, and waste levels, and implement improvements to increase efficiency.
• Supervise and develop packaging team members, including setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and providing training.
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and production planning teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure the availability and proper use of packaging materials and supplies.
• Maintain and update all relevant documentation, including shift reports, production logs, and quality records.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the packaging area using Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Academic and professional qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Food Technology or a related field.

Experience:
