Job description

Operate Overhead cranes to lift, move, place, or position large objects such as machinery, equipment, or construction materials. These roles can be in construction, industrial sites, railway yards, or surface mines. Crane operators are responsible for maintaining their equipment and performing pre-operation checks.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Operate various material-moving equipment daily according to schedules and instructions from the Area supervisor or engineer.
2. Inspect machines and equipment daily, perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and initiate repair requests when necessary.
3. Control cranes and other equipment using standard procedures to ensure effective transportation of materials and safety for all personnel.
4. Follow the plan provided by the Area Supervisor/Engineer before each shift and complete tasks accurately and on time with minimal supervision.
5. Maintain communication with ground operators via visual and radio contact, adhering to safety regulations and responding promptly to instructions.
6. Support other crane operators as needed, including working overtime, operating different equipment types, training, or supervising junior operators.
7. Capable of lifting heavy loads, working at heights, and standing for long periods.
8. Ability to operate a forklift in the workshop for moving parts.
