Qualifications

Job description

Under the supervision of Head of Department and/or Consultant or Specialist, responsible to manage patients for whom he/she is responsible to the highest attainable standard of care within the resources of Dallah Hospital by providing optometry services.

Care of patients attending the Ophthalmology Surgery Outpatient Clinics under the guidance and supervision of the Head of Department, Consultant or Specialist.

  1. Performs refraction, fitting and prescribes eyeglasses and/or soft and hard contact lenses.
  2. Performs Cyclo Refraction for pediatric patients.
  3. Performs LASIK and keratoconus screening.
  4. Performs Visual Field test; driver's license test and color vision test.
  5. Performs Biometry / A-Scan or IOL calculation on patients.
  6. Responsible for performing Topography and Pachymetry.
  7. Assists the ophthalmologists for B-Scan and/or Ultrasound.
  8. Assists the ophthalmologists by operating the Excimer Laser for LASIK, TRANS-PRK or PTK procedures.
  9. Implements appropriate policies and procedures to achieve the hospital's goals and objectives in pursuit of standards of care, quality/performance improvement.
  10. Participate in patient and family education to help patients and families to better understand and participate in their care and make well-informed care decisions.
  11. Performs any other duties within range of his/her professional knowledge and skills as directed by Head of Department.
Requirements:

Two (2) years in the Ophthalmology Surgery Dept.
Bachelor of Science in Optometry or Doctor of Optometry.
