Job description

Advanced Metal Industries and Toho Titanium (ATTM), is a private company operating within the materials sector focusing on specialty chemicals.

An exciting opportunity is available forOperator III, ReductionBased in Yanbu and will report directly to Supervisor, Reduction and Distillation.

About the role:

The Reduction Shift Operator carries out all activities in Reduction & Distillation Process in Titanium Sponge production process. This encompasses operating plant within set parameters and monitoring production workflow to assure quality, as well as monitoring and recording routine production data. The operator will also undertake routine tasks in support of the process e.g., routine plant set-up and adjustments, and handling plant problems and equipment failures following established procedures. Operators will also carry out simple routine maintenance tasks.

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintain oversight of the reduction and distillation process and monitor all aspects of the production process.
  • Charging of molten Magnesium.
  • Oversight of the MgCI2 tapping operation.
  • Oversight of the distillation process and taking corrective action if necessary.
  • Oversight of the cooling process.
  • Operate process according to established procedures.
  • Observe and monitor the process and anticipate problems.
  • Monitor equipment performance; prepare operating equipment for maintenance following established procedures.
  • Maintain and follow Quality procedures to ensure product quality.
  • Communicate equipment/ process issues to colleagues.
  • Collect data on equipment/ process malfunctions for appropriate analysis.
  • Work in conjunction with all team members to identify, detail and evaluate potential process/equipment improvements that may enhance process, safety and cost reduction.
  • Coordinate shift activities with shift supervisor.
  • Maintain an exception/ incident log and supporting information.
  • Ensure compliance with Cristal Metals Sponge handbook, plant policies and procedures.
  • Crane and hoist operation as required by the process.
  • Safe operation of the electrical supply and recovery procedures.
  • Observe and maintain all operational safety / 5S housekeeping practices.
  • Other operation related tasks. (Refer to the relevant skill sheet).

Technical Diploma/Associate degree in a related field.

1 year of experience or more in a similar heavy industrial environment.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to speak read and write English at an intermediate level.
  • Computer and numerical literacy.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate operations for the crushing process.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use policies, standards and procedures guiding operational processes.
  • Knowledge of day-to-day operations of the plant and of plant equipment.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate machinery in the production of output.
