Responsible for the day-to-day operational activities in the process area to ensure uninterrupted production and safe operation of the plant. Provides guidance and assistance with troubleshooting in the plant; provides guidance and training to trainee field operations and to functions as an effective interface between field & control operators and the shift supervisor to enable all jobs allocated to the field to be executed timely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Starting & stopping the unit as per standard operating procedures based on the instructions of supervisors.
- Monitoring & logging all critical process parameters of the plant by observing gauges, dials, switches, and alarms, and other indicators to ensure that all machines are working properly.
- Undertake physical inspections in the field to ensure operational equipment is in good working condition.
- Ensure all actions are taken for the safe shutdown and start-up in specific areas on the plant in line with standard operating procedures.
- Training new hires and cross-training other staff members.
- Monitor and report to supervisors the operational performance of the process to ensure continuous, smooth, and uninterrupted operations.
- Provide suggestions for the improvement of plant operations and/or procedures.
- Troubleshooting & solving operational problems in coordination with DCS Panel operator and Shift Supervisor.
- Unloading raw materials into designated storage tanks as per SOP and dispatching finished products into tankers/ISO containers as per SOP (whenever applicable).
- Ensure that the workplace is maintained clean and tidy at all times in line with company standards.
Safety, Quality & Environment:
- Take appropriate actions to meet health, and safety guidelines, regulations, and environmental conditions within acceptable norms and standards.
- Follow and enforce all safety precautions and procedures to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel.
- Writes and submits reports to Shift Supervisor regarding operational, plant equipment, maintenance requirements, etc.
- Follows all safety instructions and notices and wears PPE equipment at all times and is educated to promote a culture of Safety First as reflected by low accidents and incident rates.
- Educated on all operational EHS guidelines to ensure observation of standard EHS processes and operating procedures.
Education:
2 to 6 years of operational experience with sound knowledge of manufacturing, chemical processes, and operations.
