The Operations Shipping Director is responsible for overseeing the entire shipping and distribution process within the organization. This includes managing and optimizing the daily operations of logistics, warehousing, inventory management, and the transportation of goods to customers and clients. The role is critical for ensuring timely, cost-effective, and efficient shipping solutions that meet customer satisfaction and business objectives. The Director will lead teams across operations, supply chain, and customer service to maintain high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning & Leadership:

• Develop and implement operational strategies to streamline shipping and distribution processes.
• Set key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure operational targets for shipping and logistics are met or exceeded.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing shipping and operations team, ensuring alignment with business goals.

1. Operations Management:

• Oversee day-to-day shipping activities, including order fulfillment, packaging, and transportation.
• Coordinate with warehouses, shipping partners, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure proper inventory management for outbound shipments and maintain accurate records.

1. Budget & Cost Management:

• Manage the shipping and logistics budget, optimizing costs without compromising service quality.
• Evaluate shipping contracts and negotiate with carriers, suppliers, and vendors to secure cost-effective rates.
• Monitor and report on expenses related to shipping, warehousing, and distribution.

1. Process Optimization:

• Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize shipping processes, reduce delays, and increase efficiency.
• Introduce automation or technological solutions (e.g., warehouse management systems, route optimization tools) to enhance operations.
• Analyze operational data and create reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

1. Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including customs, import/export, and environmental standards.
• Maintain safety standards across the shipping and warehouse operations to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
• Stay updated on shipping industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

1. Customer Relationship Management:

• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods, meeting customer expectations for shipping and delivery.
• Resolve customer issues or complaints related to shipping or delivery, collaborating with customer service and sales teams.
• Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and improve delivery performance.

1. Collaboration:

• Work closely with sales, procurement, and inventory management teams to ensure alignment across the supply chain.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on new product launches, changes in shipping strategy, and overall business operations.
• Coordinate with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration of shipping systems and processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in operations or logistics management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale shipping and distribution networks across domestic and international markets.
• Strong knowledge of shipping technologies, routing software, and warehouse management systems.
