The opportunity
You as an Operations Planning Engineer will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
How you’ll make an impact
- During the preparation phase of a project, the IPM is responsible for activities such as creating PT for the PM, process documentation, and reviewing Intranet, company, quality management, or process sequences.
- Checking and adapting the PT to the actual scope of supply upon receipt of the order.
- Assembly planning by creating a detailed sequence program with all project-relevant activities and personnel planning, including determining personnel requirements and initiating reservations within the department and with suppliers.
- Creating the schedule in consultation with the customer and PM, determining required assembly tools, and coordinating procurement and shipping to the construction site, including consumables and infrastructure.
- Defining responsibilities, communication channels, and working relationships among project participants and the construction site through organizational charts or regulations.
- Determining delivery sequences of materials in cooperation with sales and handling offices.
- Supporting assigned personnel during the project and monitoring costs through SAP, identifying deviations early, and initiating corrective measures.
- Evaluating progress reports, informing project managers and partners on work status, progress, and costs.
- Inspecting and initiating timesheets; discussing questionable reports with superiors, based on regulations for assembly personnel.
- Processing deviation reports in SAP, monitoring compliance with regulations, handling insurance cases, and managing personnel planning and safety regulations.
- Monitoring quality assurance measures, advising employees at the construction site, participating in project meetings, and reporting unusual occurrences.

Your background
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a high diploma.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience, preferably with GIS.
- Experience with SF6 gas handling; HE-CH GIS product knowledge is preferred.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
