Operations Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all production activities across various trades Carpentry, joinery, steel, paint, electrical, graphics, and fabric within the interior fit-outs, events, and exhibitions sector. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.
Desired Candidate Profile
Main Accountabilities

1. Planning & Coordination
- Prepare and manage production schedules based on project deadlines and capacity planning.
- Liaise with internal departments (design, procurement, logistics, and site teams) to align workflows.
- Assign daily and weekly tasks to team leaders and monitor their execution.
2. Operations & Supervision
- Oversee day-to-day workshops and site production activities across all trades.
- Ensure technical drawings and project specifications are properly executed.
- Manage installations on-site in coordination with project and site teams.
3. Administrative Tasks
- Maintain production records, time logs, and material usage reports.
- Issue daily/weekly production status reports to management and project teams.
- Ensure all production documentation (e.g., work orders, approvals, delivery notes) is accurate and up to date.
- Support documentation related to procurement requests and vendor coordination.
4. Resource Management
- Arrange required manpower, tools, and materials for all ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Coordinate with procurement for material sourcing and timely delivery.
- Manage subcontractors and third-party suppliers when required.
5. Team & Workflow Management
- Monitor productivity and address performance or quality issues.
- Ensure proper allocation and utilization of resources across projects.
- Lead, motivate, and guide supervisors and trade specialists (carpenters, welders, painters, electricians, fabricators, etc.).
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and team briefings.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend training/upskilling as needed.
6. Quality Control
- Implement and monitor quality control practices across production stages.
- Conduct inspections to ensure work meets specifications and standards.
7. Budget Management
- Monitor production costs and strive for cost-efficiency.
- Optimize labor allocation and overtime control.
8. Communication & Follow-Ups
- Conduct regular follow-ups with suppliers, team members, and other departments to ensure smooth workflows.
- Attend project meetings and report progress, bottlenecks, or urgent needs.
- Act as a point of contact for production updates and issue resolution.
9. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering production progress, manpower utilization, material status, and overall project health.
- Track KPIs related to efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Escalate critical issues to Manager with recommended action plans.
10. Health & Safety Compliance
- Enforce health and safety regulations in workshop and site production areas.
- Report and investigate incidents and near-misses.
- Ensure all team members use PPE and follow safe working practices.

5 - 7 years of experience in production management within exhibitions, events, or interior fit-out industries.
