Position Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of electromechanical projects across multiple sites. This role ensures operational excellence, resource optimisation, and compliance with contractual, safety, and quality standards. The Operations Manager leads cross-functional teams, drives performance, and serves as a key interface between project execution, clients, and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Delivery
- Lead and coordinate the execution of MEP projects from mobilization to handover
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
- Monitor site progress, resolve operational bottlenecks, and escalate critical issues proactively
- Align project activities with contractual obligations and client expectations
Operational Planning & Control
- Develop and implement project execution plans, resource schedules, and productivity benchmarks
- Oversee procurement, logistics, and subcontractor coordination to ensure uninterrupted workflow
- Monitor KPIs across cost, time, quality, and safety, and initiate corrective actions as needed
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, QA/QC protocols, and internal control systems
Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Manage site teams, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors across multiple projects
- Lead workforce planning, mobilization, and performance management
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
- Mentor and develop high-potential staff for future leadership roles
Commercial & Contractual Oversight
- Support commercial teams in variation analysis, claims preparation, and cost control
- Ensure operational alignment with CVA (Cost Versus Allowable) targets
- Participate in client meetings, progress reviews, and contractual negotiations
- Safeguard company interests in upstream and downstream contractual relationships
HSE & Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Conduct regular site audits and safety committee meetings
- Ensure all operational activities meet statutory and client-specific HSE requirements
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide regular operational reports to senior management
- Chair weekly progress and coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain transparent communication with clients, consultants, and authorities
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 12–15 years of experience in MEP contracting, with at least 5 years in a senior operations role
- Proven track record in managing large-scale electromechanical projects
- Strong leadership, planning, and commercial acumen
- Fluent in English and Arabic
- Familiarity with Saudi regulatory frameworks and client protocols (e.g., SEC, Aramco, NEOM, PIF)
