Job Description

Reporting to the Oncology Business Unit Director of Saudi Arabia, we are currently recruiting for a Franchise Lead for Oncology, who will be an integral part of the local team and be accountable for the strategy and operations of the responsible franchise within the business unit.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Franchise Lead, you will be primarily responsible for maximizing the market and sales potential of the Franchise in the Oncology Business Unit.

You will develop and execute stakeholder-focused, integrated brand plans, guiding and engaging a team of brand managers, Sales Managers, and PMRs to deliver on the business strategy and drive success and value for our company and stakeholders. You will have an external stakeholder focus and will lead a team of marketing and sales professionals within this cross-functional environment.

The Primary Activities include but are not limited to:

  1. Leadership: Coach and guide the BCM (Brand & Customer Manager) reporting to the franchise lead to ensure successful project/activity implementation as per the business plan; Lead and inspire the sales team to achieve high performance and personal development.
  2. Foster digital adoption: Promote the use of digital tools and tactics.
  3. Team management: Ensure a motivated, qualified sales team through effective hiring, coaching, training, development, rewards, and retention.
  4. Ethical environment: Create a trust-based environment emphasizing ethics and open communication.
  5. Customer focus: Lead and empower Oncology Sales Managers and PMRs to maximize opportunities through field visits, coaching, customer feedback, and participation in congresses and company events.
  6. Market understanding: Analyze local market conditions and identify opportunities based on research and insights.
  7. Strategy development: Participate in regional brand meetings and translate global strategies into local plans.
  8. Project & event management: Implement and monitor campaigns and initiatives targeting various stakeholders.
  9. Digital & Data capabilities: Lead development of Agile, digital, and data-driven capabilities with support from relevant teams.
  10. Management approach: Support agile management and clear OKRs.
  11. Financial management: Forecast and track sales and expenses, manage budgets, and allocate resources effectively.
  12. Cross-functional collaboration: Ensure alignment across departments and participate in or lead cross-functional workstreams.

Qualifications

  • University degree in pharmacy; MBA or business degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing and/or sales management within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with people management experience highly preferred.
  • 3+ years of Oncology market experience in Saudi Arabia preferred.
  • Strong scientific background or skills in Oncology.
  • Experience in sales and/or marketing management, particularly in Oncology, is essential.
  • Leadership qualities: ethics, results orientation, customer focus, decisive, courageous, talent-building, collaborative.
  • Growth mindset: continuous learning and development focus.
  • Willingness to pioneer new working methods (Agile, Digital, Data-driven).
