Job description

Company Overview:

Our client is a leading construction company with over 60 years of experience. Formed in 2006 through a strategic merger, it has grown significantly, serving major industry players. With strong financial and technical backing, it specializes in pipelines, oil and gas processing, power generation, and infrastructure projects. Its expertise includes cross-country pipelines, LNG facilities, power transmission, and wastewater treatment.

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Oil & Gas Pipeline Project Engineer to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of the project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be working closely with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for pipeline projects. Ensure that all necessary resources (personnel, equipment, materials) are allocated efficiently to meet pipeline construction milestones.

  • Monitor project costs throughout the pipeline installation process to ensure the project remains within budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining pipeline integrity and quality standards.

  • Supervise and manage project teams involved in pipeline installation, including subcontractors, suppliers, welders, equipment operators, and labor forces. Provide guidance and support to ensure productivity and adherence to technical requirements.

  • Oversee the implementation of quality control standards specific to pipeline construction, such as welding inspections, hydrostatic testing, and coating applications, to meet regulatory requirements and client specifications.

  • Enforce strict safety standards to prevent accidents during trenching, welding, lifting, and pipe-laying operations. Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and environmental protections.

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the client and the pipeline construction team. Provide regular updates on installation progress, right-of-way issues, potential challenges, and any necessary changes to the project scope.

  • Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the pipeline construction and installation lifecycle, including weather delays, terrain challenges, regulatory hurdles, or coordination conflicts with utility providers and landowners.

  • Ensure all pipeline project documentation is accurate and up to date, including contracts, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), welding logs, inspection reports, and permits.

  • Oversee the final inspection, commissioning, pressure testing, and handover process of the pipeline system to the client, ensuring all project deliverables and performance criteria are met.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • At least 7 years of experience in pipeline engineering and 5 years in project management within the oil and gas field.

  • Middle East experience is essential.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects on time and within budget.

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management tools, and software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Builder trend).

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project demands.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards & Procedures, Industry Codes, Standards and Practices, and other codes used in the project; excellent technical background and skills in industrial environments.
