Job Description:
Function

Provides the project focal point for all engineering design and drafting activities on assigned project(s). Acts as the engineering interface for project construction, controls, HSE, information, procurement/materials, and quality groups.

Relationships
  • Reports to the Project Director.
  • Coordinates directly with the Project Administration & Finance Manager, Project Construction Manager, Project Controls Manager, Project HSE Manager, Project Information Manager, Project Procurement/Materials Manager, and Project Quality Manager.
  • Communicates with Discipline Department Managers regarding staffing requirements and engineer performance.
Responsibilities
Operations and Activities
  • Directs and monitors progress for timely engineering definition of components to be designed, purchased, and installed.
  • Provides accurate planning information to establish a baseline project plan.
  • Ensures design reviews are performed to meet or exceed requirements.
  • Promotes good management principles within the engineering team.
  • Encourages ideas that improve project cost/risk position and implements them where appropriate.
  • Communicates project principles and key objectives to the engineering staff.
Organization
  • Organizes the engineering staff to deliver quality and timely design packages.
  • Provides engineering interface requirements to meet organizational goals.
  • Assigns and monitors engineering functions to meet project objectives.
Personnel
  • Ensures qualified personnel are assigned and performs performance reviews.
  • Provides necessary information and training to engineering staff.
  • Gives feedback to Discipline Department Managers on staff performance.
  • Releases engineering staff timely as work is completed.
Schedule and Budget
  • Communicates budget constraints to engineering personnel.
  • Reviews progress and productivity, providing projections for overruns or underruns.
  • Reviews/approves technical procurement recommendations for critical materials.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 15 years of proven engineering management experience, preferably offshore.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore oil & gas FEED and detailed design projects.
  • Experience with greenfield and brownfield projects; fabrication/construction experience is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards is advantageous.
  • Leadership skills in challenging environments, decision-making, and team management.
  • Excellent management, administrative, interpersonal, risk, and change management skills.
  • High awareness of safety commitments.
Qualifications

Degree in Engineering and professional registration are required.
