Nursing Supervisor ADULT ICU

Nursing Supervisor required by Chase Resourcing for a top Hospital Group in Saudi Arabia.

Our Client is one of the top Hospital Groups with centres all around Saudi Arabia. Expats make up a large portion of the employees and we welcome them from all corners of the world for 12-24 month contracts.

You will be provided with Housing, Flights, Travel allowance and all utility bills will be paid. While you are here you can undertake further education programmes and practice what you do without any budgetary constraints.

The Nursing Supervisor will assume 24 hour accountability for delivery of quality nursing care and overall unit management to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

You will be working within the Adult ICU Ward.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

CLINICAL PRACTICE

• Ensures patient care activities are within established hospital, divisional and unit specific guidelines, policies and procedures, standards and protocols etc.
• Facilitates care provided and assesses staff by maintaining high visibility to patients/ families, other health care team members and staff of other departments.
• Provides leadership and a resource role in the provision of patient care and other unit activities.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, their families and all members of the healthcare team.

ADMINISTRATION

• Staff management to include recruitment, education, training, evaluation and development as well as preparation and delegation of work schedules and workflow.
• Maintains an open door communication policy for unit staff.
• Reviews, plans, manages and monitors the unit budget.
• Participates in Committees and work groups as required.
• Develops and implements unit level strategic plan.
• Develops, modifies and ensures implementation of Policies and procedures.
• Plans, organises, directs and evaluates the delivery of patient care and unit/clinic operational management functions.
• Conducts staff meetings and maintains minutes.
• Maintains all records pertaining to the operation of the area of assignment and generates reports as required.

EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

• Assesses, develops and then monitors the effectiveness of standards of care and nursing unit policies and procedures.
• Participate in teaching and mentoring of Nursing, Medical and Paramedical students, Interns and residents.

QUALITY

• Anticipates and acts to maintain a safe environment.
• Works with all health care team members in activities designed for the improvement of patient care outcomes.
• Develops, implements and participates in Quality improvement processes and activities.
• Complies with Hospital infection control and safety protocols.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NURSING SUPERVISOR

• Registered Nurse with current nursing license in home country.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Western standard is essential)
• Three (3) years clinical nursing experience in Adult ICU, plus two (2) years in comparable management position.
• Specific Certification as required in area of assignment.
