This leadership role is critical for overseeing clinical operations, managing nursing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of pediatric critical care are maintained. The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical expertise in pediatric intensive care with proven leadership and administrative capabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead and manage the daily operations of the PICU, ensuring efficient and high-quality patient care delivery. - Supervise and mentor nursing staff, promoting professional development, team cohesion, and clinical excellence. - Coordinate staffing schedules, performance evaluations, and continuing education initiatives. - Ensure compliance with hospital policies, international standards of pediatric critical care, and infection control protocols. - Collaborate with pediatric intensivists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care. - Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), quality assurance measures, and patient safety goals. - Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management for the PICU unit. - Handle patient/family escalations, resolve clinical issues, and foster a family-centered care environment. - Oversee readiness of life-support equipment, medication inventory, and emergency preparedness. - Drive quality improvement initiatives, audits, and policy development within the unit.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent preferred. - Valid nursing license in the home country (SCFHS license or eligibility preferred). - Minimum of 6-8 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a senior/leadership role within a PICU. - PALS and BLS certification required; additional leadership or management certifications preferred. - Strong leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills in a pediatric critical care setting. - Proficiency in EMR systems and data-driven quality improvement approaches. - Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational abilities. - Fluent in English (Arabic is an asset).
