Job purpose:

The post holder will be responsible for delivering Naval Specialist Training (NST) at the Technical Institute for Naval Studies (TINS). Specifically, the post holder will deliver common content for all NST streams and Electricity Technician (Radar) (ET(R)) stream-specific content.

Responsibilities:

The post holder is responsible for:

  • delivering Naval Specialty Training curriculum and Electricity Technician (Radar) specific elements,
  • supporting invigilation activities for assessments,
  • supporting remedial training activities,
  • writing assessment materials,
  • supporting the continuous improvement of courseware materials and media,
  • writing Trainee reports as required to meet customer requirements,

The post holder will operate with absolute integrity and professionalism. They will ensure completion of any other reasonable requests by the NST Warfare Senior Instructor, aligning with company business.

Job Requirements:
Education
  • graduates of advanced military trade schools, industrial equivalents, or relevant educational establishments,
  • successfully completed an accredited Instructional Techniques course, plus either:
  • a) A valid IELTS certificate (gained in the last two years) with an average band score of 5.0 and no pillar less than 4.0, or
  • b) A CEFR level of B1, valid for one year through British Council Aptis, with Speaking and Listening pillars at B2 minimum.

All new SN Specialty Instructors must provide an IELTS certificate with overall score of 5.0 and speaking/listening at 5.0 at recruitment.

Experience
  • five years practical experience in their specialty,
  • at least two years recent instructional experience within the last six years.
Desirable
  • completion of a FACET training course.
