Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Non-Metallic Engineering Specialist to join our team at Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) under the Reliability Solutions Department (RSD).

Reliability Solutions Department (RSD) provides engineering support to Saudi Aramco's global manufacturing facilities, including refining, NGL processing, and petrochemicals. This encompasses reliability, inspection, corrosion management, static and rotating equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation, and control support.

Responsibilities
  • Develop procedures and train personnel for comprehensive inspection of non-metallic equipment such as GRP & HDPE piping, tanks, and vessels.
  • Perform integrity assessments, failure investigations, and provide recommendations to maintain equipment integrity.
  • Scout, introduce, and support deployment of non-metallic products in various applications cost-effectively.
  • Develop and update standards, procedures, and best practices related to non-metallic applications.
  • Deploy innovative non-metallic inspection technologies.
  • Support failure investigations and compile lessons learned to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Review and approve solutions for coating failures and composite applications.
  • Review design packages and validate material selection per current standards.
  • Participate in standards writing bodies as needed.
  • Stay updated on developments in non-metallic applications through literature and industry events.
  • Participate in value engineering sessions for non-metallic products.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Non-Metallic Materials, Polymers, Chemical, or Materials Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15 years of oil & gas sector experience, with at least 5 years in non-metallic materials engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of non-metallic products, including application, qualification, testing, failure analysis, and evaluation.
  • Deep understanding of international standards like API 15HR, API 15S, API 17J.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, lining processes, installation, testing, and inspection of non-metallic components.
  • Membership in professional societies such as ASME, API, ISO, NACE is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
