Job description

A multinational organization operating at the forefront of energy innovation is hiring News Analyst. This role involves conducting in-depth media analysis, and coordinating with agencies, media relations teams, and relevant internal stakeholders when required.

Responsibilities

  • Use specialized software to continuously monitor media coverage, including industry-specific topics such as oil and gas, as well as broader news.
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports summarizing media mentions and providing analytical insights.
  • Create customized, ad-hoc media analysis reports in response to crises, emerging issues, or special requests.
  • Manage incoming media inquiries efficiently, ensuring accurate tracking and logging in close collaboration with the Media Relations team and other relevant parties.
  • Provide support during crisis situations in alignment with the organization’s crisis communications manual.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer & Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in media monitoring or a related discipline.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities; must be a proactive team player with strong analytical skills, the ability to manage stress, and flexibility to adapt during crisis events.
  • Native-level proficiency in Arabic and fluent professional proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
  • Familiarity with the news media landscape and knowledge of the broader energy sector is an advantage.
