JOB DUTIES STATEMENTS:
Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs clinical duties as per his/her assigned clinical privileges.
- Assesses his/her patients thoroughly (e.g., clinical, socioeconomic, psychological, and functional assessments) as per DSFH policies.
- Documents patients' assessments in their medical records.
- Develops a plan of care for patients using an evidence-based approach, following standards of care, and documents the plan of care in patients’ medical records as per DSFH policies.
- Ensures that the patient’s plan of care is implemented in a timely manner.
- Becomes the most responsible physician (MRP) for inpatients admitted under his/her name.
- Develops a discharge plan on the day of admission for inpatients admitted under his/her name and involves discharge planning services early if warranted.
- Assesses inpatients admitted under his/her name at least once daily, documenting assessments and plans of care in daily progress notes using SOAP format, as per DSFH policies.
- Responds to medical consultations in a timely manner and as per DSFH policies.
- Documents medical interventions performed on patients in a timely manner, following DSFH policies.
- Responsible for the timely completion and authentication of discharge summaries for patients admitted under his/her name.
- Ensures that discharge instructions and education on take-home medications are provided prior to patient discharge.
- Provides education to patients and their families, engaging them in the plan of care, and documents this education in the medical record.
- Attends hospital duties and responds to calls from the hospital as per departmental/section call schedule.
- Attends departmental and staff meetings, contributing ideas to improve efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
- Responsible for writing medical reports of his/her patients, as per DSFH policies.
- Contributes to teaching rounds and activities as requested by the medical department chairperson.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical practices and represents DSFH positively in the community.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility.
- Demonstrates compassionate communication skills while providing patient-centered care.
- Performs all duties in line with Person Centered Care values, organizational policies, and ethical standards outlined in HCM policies.
- Completes mandatory education at least one month prior to expiration.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge on quality and safety, accreditation, policy management, and document management systems.
Qualifications
- Completion of structured training in the specialty or subspecialty at a recognized medical center, obtaining the highest clinical degree granted by that center.
- Completion of required experience according to the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties within the field of specialty in recognized medical centers.
- Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and Ministry of Health Saudi License is required.
