Job description

The main objective of this role is to translate the technical specifications of products or solutions into straightforward business language for clients and to generate demand within customer segments for specialized solution areas using specific approaches.

The Solutions Specialist will be involved in all technical sales activities and must possess Cisco-specific knowledge. Certifications and specializations supporting this knowledge are highly recommended.

The focus will be on Advanced & Emerging Technologies, including Traditional and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, private cloud solutions, Backup Solutions, Disaster Recovery, Cyber-Recovery solutions, and Microsoft Azure. The candidate must be able to work independently to gather requirements and translate them into solutions, collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies, conduct whiteboarding sessions with customers and team members, and build BOMs, cost analyses, SOWs, and Visio diagrams.

The role requires the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, develop strategic relationships with Partner SEs, and provide support across multiple technologies.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  1. Design solutions for customers and document project scopes.
  2. Engage with customers through presentations, addressing technical and business perspectives.
  3. Present project methodologies effectively to stakeholders.
  4. Compare and evaluate technical solutions and vendors to find the best fit for customer needs.
  5. Prepare detailed technical proposals and costing sheets for project execution and budgeting.
  6. Collaborate with account managers to build and manage sales pipelines for specific technologies.
  7. Prepare demos and POCs to help open new sales pipelines.
  8. Update offered solutions with new technologies matching customer needs.
  9. Develop go-to-market strategies in specialized areas.
  10. Support and transfer knowledge to the Sales team in specialized areas.
  11. Contribute to marketing efforts by providing technology updates through articles, videos, and events.
  12. Conduct internal knowledge transfer and enablement sessions for the sales team.
  13. Develop proactive go-to-market approaches related to responsible technologies and deliver them to sales.
  14. Coordinate or deliver knowledge transfer activities related to technologies.

Minimum qualifications include a BA in Information Technology or equivalent, VMware VTSP, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, VEEAM VMTSP, and preferably Dell Technologies Architect certification. The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in the field, with 2 years in a presales role.
