Job Summary:

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting network infrastructure. This role involves configuring network devices, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal performance and security. A strong understanding of networking protocols, security principles, and cloud integration is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Design & Implementation

• Configure, deploy, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Support and optimize LAN, WAN, VLAN, MPLS, and SD-WAN infrastructures.
• Assist in network capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades.

Troubleshooting & Support

• Diagnose and resolve network performance issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Monitor network health and performance using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Wireshark.
• Provide technical support to end-users and IT teams for network-related incidents.

Security & Compliance

• Implement security best practices, including firewall policies, VPN configurations, and access controls.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS).
• Assist in network vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts.

Cloud & Virtual Networking

• Support cloud networking environments in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Configure and manage VPNs, load balancers, and hybrid cloud connectivity.

Documentation & Collaboration

• Maintain up-to-date network documentation, including topologies, configurations, and procedures.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, server, and application teams to ensure seamless network integration.
• Work with vendors and service providers to optimize network solutions.

Job Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in network engineering or administration.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, and STP.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or Palo Alto network devices.
• Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network security best practices.
• Understanding of cloud networking, SDN, and network automation tools (Ansible, Python, Terraform).
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent are preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with VoIP, wireless networking, or load balancing solutions.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and network governance frameworks.
