Duties And Responsibilities

  • Performs clinical duties as per assigned clinical privileges.
  • Assesses patients thoroughly (clinical, socioeconomic, psychological, and functional assessments) as per DSFH policies.
  • Documents patient assessments in medical records.
  • Develops and documents the plan of care for patients using evidence-based approaches and standards of care, in accordance with DSFH policies.
  • Ensures timely implementation of the patient’s plan of care.
  • Becomes the most responsible physician (MRP) for inpatients admitted under his/her name.
  • Develops discharge plans on the day of admission and involves discharge planning services early if needed.
  • Assesses inpatients at least once daily, documenting assessments and plans in SOAP format, following DSFH policies.
  • Responds promptly to medical consultations as per DSFH policies.
  • Documents medical interventions performed on patients in a timely manner.
  • Completes and authenticates discharge summaries for patients under his/her care.
  • Ensures discharge instructions and medication education are provided before patient discharge.
  • Provides education to patients and families, engaging them in the care plan, and documents this education.
  • Attends hospital duties and responds to calls according to departmental schedules.
  • Participates in departmental and staff meetings, contributing ideas to improve efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
  • Writes medical reports for patients as per DSFH policies.
  • Contributes to teaching rounds and activities as requested.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Follows organizational policies on ethics and represents DSFH professionally in the community.
  • Performs other duties within scope and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Demonstrates compassionate communication skills, prioritizing patient-centered care.
  • Performs all duties aligned with Person Centered Care values and adheres to organizational policies, codes of conduct, and ethical standards.
  • Completes mandatory education at least one month prior to expiration.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge on quality, safety, accreditation, policy, and document management systems.

Qualifications

  • Completion of structured training and highest clinical degree in the specialty/subspecialty from a recognized medical center.
  • Experience as required by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in recognized medical centers.
  • Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and Ministry of Health licenses are mandatory.
