Role Objective & Responsibilities:
To perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities of Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) in support of Typhoon operations, ensuring all activities comply with the RSAF Typhoon maintenance policy, Saudi Arabia SALAM Maintenance Organisation Exposition, and associated Quality Management System.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct all NDI activities within the scope of the NDI test regime.
- Deputise for the NDI Lead when required.
- Manage available manpower by coordinating with Specialist Supervisors to ensure aircraft generation.
- Submit TQs and TPRF, including implementing all Technical Instructions and Modifications.
- Ensure correct utilization of electronic data systems and adherence to operating procedures.
- Maintain accessible Depth Management & Customer reporting.
- Support the NDI Lead in managing facilities, reporting damages or defects promptly, and following through to resolution.
- Ensure personnel follow correct engineering practices, observe safety precautions, and minimize unnecessary risks.
- Carry out shift handovers clearly and maintain daily diaries.
- Adhere to tool control procedures and perform random checks on specialist tool kits.
- Conduct independent checks of airworthiness tools for accuracy.
- Assist the NDI Lead in addressing QA or HQ reports and investigations.
- Prepare equipment for calibration per local procedures.
- Support 'spot it, report it', SORT, and FOD prevention programs, and raise ROID or deficiency paperwork as needed.
- Serve as SME for troubleshooting and fault finding.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- At least 7 years post-qualification maintenance experience in an operational flying aircraft environment or 3 years on the same aircraft type.
- Attained Specialist Level 2 NDI qualification (e.g., EN4179, ASNT, PCN) in at least 4 methods (PT, MT, ET, UT).
- Holds 2nd signature.
- Equipment-specific and type training ('Q' Course) if required.
- Leadership skills with proven supervisory ability.
Desirable:
- Broad aerospace and defense industry knowledge.
- Understanding of company processes, RAF, and RSAF procedures.
- Experience delivering workplace training.
- Knowledge of electronic reporting systems like ESS.
Core Competencies:
Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft maintenance and engineering, completion of recognized aircraft engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, and experience with EASA Part 145 standards.
Product Safety & SHE Responsibilities:
Adherence to SHE policies, participation in SHE meetings, and compliance with safety training requirements. Highlight safety concerns and comply with safety and environmental management plans.
