Responsibilities:
- Plan lessons and units following the curriculum framework in collaboration with other grade-level teachers.
- Develop curriculum documentation that reflects horizontal and vertical alignment.
- Design lessons considering differentiation needs, student engagement, and anticipate misconceptions.
- Create plans for formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning.
- Demonstrate content knowledge in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning.
Classroom Management
- Communicate and enforce high expectations consistently and clearly.
- Show warmth, care, respect, and fairness, building strong relationships with students.
- Establish routines early and maintain them throughout the year.
- Encourage self-discipline, responsibility, and efficacy among students.
- Maintain alertness and poise, addressing discipline issues proactively.
Delivery of Instruction
- Implement effective strategies, materials, and groupings to motivate students.
Professional Responsibilities
- Design lessons with clear, measurable goals aligned with standards and outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues on planning, sharing ideas, and reviewing student work.
- Seek and implement effective teaching strategies from various sources.
- Engage students actively in learning and problem-solving.
- Differentiate and scaffold instruction to reach all students.
- Analyze data collaboratively to inform placements and instructional adjustments.
- Seek feedback and reflect to improve teaching effectiveness.
Monitoring Assessment & Follow-up
- Regularly check for understanding and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Analyze data to ensure lesson and unit plans meet student needs.
- Administer diagnostic assessments and use results to refine instruction.
- Encourage students to set goals, self-assess, and take responsibility for their learning.
Family and Community Outreach
- Communicate respectfully with parents, respecting cultural differences.
- Express belief in each child's potential to meet standards.
- Set clear expectations and promptly communicate about behavior and learning issues.
- Update parents on curriculum and ways to support learning at home.
- Respond promptly to parental concerns and foster a welcoming environment.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in community activities and open communication.
- Perform supervision duties as assigned.
- Attend after-school activities (once/week) and office hours (twice/week).
